Next up: Our Sealing

Technically if I was doing this in chronological order like I intended, the next thing I would post would be when Austin and I found out we were pregnant with Navy girl. Since my very first post was about that i'm going to fast forward to our sealing day!

After we were married in 2011 we decided our next goal in life would be to get sealed together in the temple! Our goal was to get sealed a year from our wedding date, and just so happens 2012 was Leap Year so our anniversary landed on a Monday!
I was really excited when I came to the realization that we would be able to get sealed on our Anniversary.

We started the preparation process,we started going to the Temple Prep on Sunday's and meeting with the bishop regularly. I was so excited to get to experience this with my awesome husband! About halfway through our process of preparing to go through the temple I found out I was pregnant. It made me really happy to know that our little bundle of joy would be born into a family that was sealed in the temple for "time and all eternity."

So, to our sealing day. We didnt invite many people. Actually we just invited family and a select few friends. October 1st 2012 was an amazing day. I was almost 10 months pregnany, so fitting into my temple clothes was kind of a challenge but I did it, even though I was EXTREMELY hot. Austin and i decided we would take our endowments out the day we got sealed. That way family from out of town would only have to endure one day of festivities. We had to be the temple at 7:40 a.m with our endowed family members. I went with my mom and Austin went with his dad. I was really nervous right before I walked into the temple. Although, as soon as I walked through that revolving glass door and saw the Brother who was scanning temple recommends smile and welcome us, a sense of calmness and joy overcame me. The St. George, UT temple was beautiful inside. Everyone was in white and smiling. I can only imagine that is what heaven may be like. We were escorted to our different areas and went through our endowment sessions with ease. It was beautiful. I was so grateful to have my wonderful husband to experience that with for the first time.

One memory I will never forget is when we were being sealed together. The sealer had made a comment about my pregnant state of being and how that little person inside my tummy was so grateful and happy that her parents choosing to be together forever along with our posterity. That resignated with me so deep that I will never forget that moment. In that moment everything was right in the world. My hot sweaty pregnant body was no longer and issue, that little bit of morning sickness that still lingered minutes before was completely dismissed, and I was sitting next to my eternal companion, surrounded by loving family and a few friends in that beautiful celestial room.
We were the last of all of Austin's siblings to be sealed. I know that day was also very special to his parents, that everyone of their children were worthy to be in that room together. That room was exquisite and what was even more amazing is that Austin's Grandparents, his parents and now us had all been sealed in that same room.

After the sealing everyone decided to meet up for lunch at the go to place for big family get togethers.
Chuck-a-rama of course.

Being sealed to Austin was one of the best decisions I have ever chosen to make in life and am so grateful for him and how he honors his Preisthood. I am so happy to say that our little family will reap the benefits of our decsicion that day for years to come. I am grateful to set an example for our children, and hope that they make that decision for themselves too.

October 1, 2012 was a beautiful, glorious day.

Thanks for reading!
